Over the careful planning and studies carried out, we outline improvements around Penang Hill. These will not only restructure the image, but also build a whole new experience for the tourist's hot spot.

Phase One

Elevated Walkway
An alternative route to Astaka and Dataran Bukit Bendera

Retractable Roof
To provide convenience to tourists and visitors and enhance the lower station landscape.

Phase 2

Sky Walk & Lift
Penang Hill icon that provides easy access to KBB Bungalow for the elderly people and OKU to enjoy the extended deck.

View Decks & Gardens
Newly constructed view decks cover the 180-degree spectacular view of George Town and surrounding areas.

Holding Area
Extension of the Upper Station holding area for tourists convenience

Phase 3

Phase Three was completed in 2018. This project is designed to cater to the number of visitors that come to Penang Hill especially during peak seasons such as School Holidays.

Over the years, Penang Hill has completed a series of improvement activities. These activities resulted in transforming Penang Hill into one of today's hot spots in northern Malaysia.

LED Lightings at Lower Station (Viaduct Walkway)
To beautify the Viaduct Walkway at lower station especially during night time

Toilet Upgrades at Middle Station
Upgraded the toilet facilities in Middle Station for the hikers

Upgraded the lower station with more sitting area (planter box) and Retractable Roof

Installation of Light poles and Spotlight along the track

Landscape along the Summit Road at Upper Station
Beautified the Summit Road with various plants and trees. Giving pleasure to the visitors who walk along the road.

For the convenience of the funicular users, the holding area space was upgraded. The visitors will no longer worry about the hot weather

Refurbished Hillside Bungalow
Upgraded one of the heritage bungalows on Penang Hill

Refurbish PHC Guest House and Tulip House
These two houses were refurbished so that the staff of Penang Hill can enjoy the scenery and view of Penang Hill by staying up there.

New roof at Lower Station Turnstile
The POS ticketing system that was implemented at Penang Hill Station requires a covered to the visitors’ comfort when exiting the funicular.

The Little Village (Supported Project)
The surrounding area of The Little Village is designed to replicate the dwarf’s houses. The main attraction here is the bees and visitors can also purchase the honey that is sold here.

Beautified the walkway next to the clinic with more plants that suit the hill
