DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS – GRADE 13/14 (OPEN)

- SALARY SCHEME : Based on salary scheme for the Grade 13/14
WORK DESCRIPTION:
- Reporting to the General Manager, the Director of Operations will assist the General Manager to plan, develop, implement and oversee Penang Hill Corporation (PHC)’s key operations, Penang Hill Biosphere Reserve Office, and strategic projects;
- Assist in managing the overall operations when General Manager is not on-site;
- Responsible for managing and implementing strategic projects and operations (with shift work and extended working hours);
- Attend operational and strategic meetings with the state government, federal agencies and stakeholders as required;
- Be part of the leadership team to enable PHC achieve its goals, developing new business and driving growth, promoting business profitability and developing a high performing team;
- Basic understanding of P&L statements, finance knowledge and the ability to drive impactful strategies;
- Demonstrate ability to build good relationship with all stakeholders, and develop teams;
- Involve in hiring and evaluating PHC employees; and
- Ensure all decisions are made in the best interest of PHC
REQUIREMENTS:
- Malaysian Citizen, 45 years old and above;
- Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor degree, preferably in engineering or technical field, e.g Electrical, Civil, Mechanical, Electronics or related engineering discipline. MBA holders or advanced qualifications in any relevant fields would be an advantage;
- Minimum 20 years of relevant experience with at least 10 years at management and senior leadership level;
- Strong analytical, problem solving, business thinking and project management skills; ability to apply data to solve complex issues where necessary; familiar in contracts or project agreements;
- Must have excellent negotiation and communication skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia (verbal and written); ability to communicate with the local and international vendors, business partners, stakeholders and community is vital; additional language skills would be added advantage;
- Motivated, disciplined and self-driven individual; strong commitment to integrity, professionalism, quality of execution, a team player with good presentation and people management skills;
- Confident, dynamic personality and willingness to take challenges; be prepared to work outdoor / on-site;
- Must be flexible, love nature, and occasionally work during weekends / public holidays.
